SAVE OUR ENVIRONMENT

Assalamu’alaikum Wr. Wb.

The honorable juries, committees, participants of English Speech Contest 2017 and all my beloved audiences.

Before I deliver my speech, I would like to invite you to thank Allah, the Almighty, who has given us Mercies and Blessings, so we can gather together in this blessing place in a healthy condition. Sholawat and Salam be upon to our prophet Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from the darkness to the brightness, along with his families, his friends and us as his followers.

Ladies and gentlemen,

On this grateful occasion, I would like to deliver a speech about “saving our environment”.

Brothers and sisters,

Whether we realize it or not, we live in this world depending on the environment. We drink water from our environment, we breath air from our environment and we eat foods which are planted in our environment. Thus, our environment has great influence for our lives. Our environment gives us life. Good or bad, the condition of our environment will definitely affect our lives even our existence. Our environment is our life.

My beloved audiences,

Few years ago, there were many green trees and beautiful flowers around us. But now, those green trees are gone, replaced by grey stiff buildings. Few years ago, we could still breathe fresh air of oxygen, deeper to fill our lung. But now, that refreshing oxygen was gone, polluted by thick Carbon Monoxide. Few years ago, we could still clearly look at our reflections on the river because of clear and pure water. But now, those reflections are gone. The water is contaminated by tons of trash and dangerous waste.

The grey stiff building that we see, carbon monoxide that we breathe, and polluted water that we drink become our daily menu right now. It’s absolutely big problem. But, do we just stay still and enjoy those bitter menus every day? Of course we must not. How would we live in this unhealthy condition?

Ladies and gentlemen

The current and future conditions of our environment depend on us. We, who live now, have big responsibility to restore our environment so in the future we can still live a better life. We should all together keep and preserve the environment.

Happy audiences,

Preserving the environment does not mean we must do big things. Small actions such as planting some trees, putting trash in right place, saving electricity, and reducing the usage of motorcycle will save our environment from destruction. If those small actions are done by people in this world, it will create an opportunity to restore our environment from destruction once more.

In addition, let us gather to work together, to invite others to protect the environment. As a famous quote of the world, “united we stand, divided we fall.” So, once again, let us together preserve the environment. Never hesitate to remind and report those who put the trash everywhere, cut the trees illegally, and do everything bad for environment.

Last but not the least, let us urge the government to play their important role. We recommend them that the healthy life education and environmental awareness must be included in educational system. Through this way, we can teach our young generation to keep the environment, save the environment, and save our lives.

Remember my friends, our environment is our life. If it is destroyed, our life will be destroyed. Treat it well and it will treat us well.

That’s all my speech. I hope my brief speech about saving the environment will be useful for us.  Thank you very much for your attention.
