hours in HK News.
Viddy Ngantung, chairman of an NGO called Gemma Mitra, highlights the use
of dynamites in catching fish or fish bombing by a number of fishermen in
Southeast Minahasa, North Sulawesi. He is concerned that the blast fishing
threatens the region’s tourism sector.
“Blast fishing throughout the waters of Southeast Minahasa can have a
negative effect on the region’s tourism sector”
Viddy revealed that the region is not only the top local tourist attraction
but also in the whole North Sulawesi Province. “It’s really unfortunate for the
underwater beauty at Southeast Minahasa to be ruined by irresponsible people
that practice blast fishing,”
Viddy hopes that the authorities would take action against the fish bombing
practice.
Meanwhile, spokesman for Southeast Minahasa Administration Franky Wowor
admits that he regrets that such practice still exists. “It’s regrettable that
fishermen still practice blast fishing in order to catch fish around the area
of Southeast Minahasa since it really does damage the area,”
He says the local government will collaborate with authorities to stop the
practice. They will also socialize the negative effects of blast fishing to
local people.
Franky also calls on the public to report to the village officials or law
enforcers if they witness any fish bombing act in the vicinity of the Southeast
Minahasa waters.
Well, next we have good
news for Spain,
Barcelona completed one of
the most sensational comebacks in soccer by beating Paris Saint-Germain 6-1 to
reach the Champions League quarterfinals on Wednesday, scoring the decisive
goal of 6-5 victory on aggregate in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Sergi Roberto's dramatic
late goal sent the Camp Nou wild and made Barcelona the first team ever to
overturn a 4-0 first-leg defeat since the Champions League format started in
the 1992-1993 season.
PSG seemed certain to go
through after Edinson Cavani scored a valuable away goal following Barcelona's
opening salvo of three goals.
Barcelona needed three
more goals to advance, and the feat seemed impossible even after Neymar scored
with a free kick in the 88th minute.
But the Brazil striker
scored a penalty in the 90th and then followed up with a chipped pass for
substitute Roberto to steer the ball beyond goalkeeper Kevin Trapp in injury
time.
The winner sent
Barcelona's bench flooding onto the pitch as the stadium celebrated.
