Assalamualaikum
Wr. Wb.
My name
is Ziyad and I am speaking as the delegate of MA Husnul Khotimah.
Before
beginning my speech, let us pray to Allah, there
is no god but him, because of his mercy, we can gather together in this great event. Peace
and salutation be upon to our Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Because of his teaching, the humanity could go
through the darkness to the brightness.
Ladies
and gentlemen,
Right now, we see that the world economy has reached such an
amazing level that there is no boundary between countries, between continents,
all over the world. Every country strives to improve its economy for the
welfare of its people. However, there is a very bitter reality for us to see,
that there are still many countries left behind in economic development, there
is one answer that causes most of these problems, and what is it, Ladies
and gentlemen?
It’s the
lack of interest in youth of entrepreneurship. Why did it happen?
It would be nice to take the legendary words from the former
president of Indonesia Soekarno once said "Give me 10 youths, then I will shake the world!".
These words remind us not to underestimate the ability of the youth to change a
nation, especially in the economic aspect. Even with the absence of experiences, the youth canoffer a bright future for a country.
Let's look at the fact that most developed countries are identic with a large number of
young entrepreneurs. Japan and Germany, for
example, have young entrepreneurs over 10% of the total population, while
Indonesia has only 1.5% of young entrepreneurs out of the total population.
Ladies
and gentlemen,
This thing can
happen because young entrepreneurs are able to offer new jobs for many people, produce high-quality
products and commodities, and help the country's development with innovation
and new creativity in the country's economic market, enhancing the country's
competitiveness with foreign countries, thus making the country way more adaptive
against the global economy crisis and foreign control.
Not only that, being a young entrepreneur also has many
advantages and benefits for ourselves. Some of them are the
chance to add more life experiences and
skills, provide employment opportunities for many
people, financial
warranty, and even do
charity for those who need using the benefits we gained.
An example of a successful young entrepreneur in
Indonesia is Sandiaga Uno, the
present vice governor of Jakarta. Formerly,
he was an office employee in Singapore before being laid off because of the
economic crisis that hit the world in 1997, since then, he changed
his paradigm and has struggled to set up a
financial consulting firm that handles financial problems in many companies. As the
time passed by, his business grew thanks to
the number of business relations and clients who entrusted their company's future to Sandiaga Uno, which ultimately led
him to the top of success.
Ladies
and gentlemen,
There will be no success if you do not dare to start, as stated
by Catherine Cook, co-founder of MyYearbook, "To any entrepreneur : if you
want to do it, do it now. If you do not, you're going to regret it. "
I have always believed that the opportunity to become a
successful young entrepreneur exists in all
young people in Indonesia, and especially, the students. So, let’s become a young entrepreneur, be
a part of
the success story of our
country.Let the world know that behind the rise of Indonesia,
there are a
lot of dedications from all of you.
Once
again, the choice is yours!
Thank you,
Wassalamualaikum wr. wb.
